ULANOR Campaign Update

On hold for the moment.

With the recent release of the Imperial Fists Codex Supplement, it appears the Orks have fallen pretty far behind in terms of power.

I've tried a few different things in games, and the games have all been over turn 1. The sheer amount of firepower that Marines can throw out now, and with AP -1 literally sweeps Orks off the table.

I'm currently re-configuring my gaming table to include substantially more line of sight blocking terrain, but it will be a few months until this is completed. Until then, the ULANOR campaign is on hold.

But the Insurrecction Campaign is back to take it's place! Lots of Imperial Fists vs Chaos of all types!

Until next time, happy gaming!

Insurrection Campaign: Battle 1

Bad Deployment loses games.

Mission Source:  Don't remember
Mission:  Don't remember
Points:    1750
Armies:   Space Marines: Imperial Fists / Chaos: Red Corsairs

I wasn't going to publish this game, since I played it so poorly, but I figured there are lessons to be learned. I was so concerned with the damage that Havocs could inflict on my mostly infantry force that I deployed very deep in my own quarter. So deep, in fact, that it auto-lost me the game.

Gaming Table Update

Campaign on hold.

I am updating and expanding the city scape on my gaming table, so there is no battle report this month. But I did take a few pictures that capture what one quarter of the new table will look like.

A new campaign starts!

ULANOR Crusade Battle 1

Mission Source: Chapter Approved 2017
Mission: Eternal War: Frontline Warfare / Spearhead Assault Deployment
Points: 1750
Armies: Orks [Evil Sunz / Bad Moons], Space Marines [Imperial Fists]

Captain Lysander has decided that now is the time to reclaim the ULANOR system from the clutches of the greenskins! Personally leading the veterans of the 1st Company in the initial assault, he is determined to drive out the Xeno filth!

Warboss Bonekleava has other plans, however. He's just about ready to launch a new WAAAGH!, and fighting the yellow beakies will bring Orks from all over the system flocking to his banner!

Orks vs Nurgle 1750 points

Green on Green action!

Mission Source: Chapter Approved 2017
Mission: Supply Drop
Points: 1750
Armies: Orks : Goffs / Death Guard & Nurgle Daemons

First off, this was one of the most fun games I've played of 40K in recent months. In fact, I was so into the game, I stopped taking pictures after deployment, until turn 4. The game was super close, with multiple combats being decided by 1 wound! Either causing just enough wounds to kill something, or by just failing to kill something by one wound. How awesome is that?

Many laughs were had, some Highland Park Viking Scars Scotch may have been involved, and there was carnage. On we go!

How To: ORKS - GOFF Clan

And the Nuts and Bolts of the Charge and Fight Phase

Caveats

1.
This post is long. Really long. I had thought about breaking it into several smaller posts, but since I don't care about page views, or clicks or anything like that, I thought having all the information together on one page seemed like a better idea.

This post is as long as it is because it touches on several different topics including Stratagems, list building, Charge Phase rules and Fight Phase rules and how these things all interact.
