Insurrection Campaign: Battle 3

Imperial Fist Supplement Codex is good. Real good.

Mission Source: 2018 Chapter Approved
Mission: Beachhead
Points: 2000
Armies: Imperial Fists / Red Corsairs

So, first game post supplement. I took a list of things that I wanted to play, that were painted. I think it's the first time in a very long time that I have been able to field a fully painted army, that is WYSIWYG. Feels good.

ULANOR Campaign Update

On hold for the moment.

With the recent release of the Imperial Fists Codex Supplement, it appears the Orks have fallen pretty far behind in terms of power.

I've tried a few different things in games, and the games have all been over turn 1. The sheer amount of firepower that Marines can throw out now, and with AP -1 literally sweeps Orks off the table.

I'm currently re-configuring my gaming table to include substantially more line of sight blocking terrain, but it will be a few months until this is completed. Until then, the ULANOR campaign is on hold.

But the Insurrecction Campaign is back to take it's place! Lots of Imperial Fists vs Chaos of all types!

Until next time, happy gaming!

Insurrection Campaign: Battle 1

Bad Deployment loses games.

Mission Source:  Don't remember
Mission:  Don't remember
Points:    1750
Armies:   Space Marines: Imperial Fists / Chaos: Red Corsairs

I wasn't going to publish this game, since I played it so poorly, but I figured there are lessons to be learned. I was so concerned with the damage that Havocs could inflict on my mostly infantry force that I deployed very deep in my own quarter. So deep, in fact, that it auto-lost me the game.

Insurrection Campaign Battle 4

Maelstrom of War - Deadlock

Mission Source: Main Rule Book
Mission: Maelstrom of War - Deadlock - Vanguard Strike Deployment
Points: 2000
Armies: World Eaters / Tau Empire

[World Eaters Chaos Lord] had received some rather worrying news. The planned insurrection was not going well so far. The forces of Chaos had failed to recover the Kytan Daemon Engine from the Tau planet it had been located on, An Ork warband had caught Nurgle Warlord Mordebas Goulstur preparing for his part of the campaign. While Goulstur had seen the Orks off, it had been a close run thing, and Goulstur needed time to repair and refit his forces before leading them into action again, such was the brutality of the contest with the Orks. And now, he had news that a Tau'nar had been spotted in the lines before them. The reports had said the Tau forces before them were few, but possessed heavy firepower. No matter. Forward! Skulls for the skull throne! Blood for the Blood God!

Insurrection Campaign Battle 3

Maelstrom of War: Deadlock

Mission Source: Main Rulebook
Mission: Maelstrom of War: Deadlock
Points: 2000
Armies: Orks / Chaos Space Marines

Chaos Lady Malda Bastiinus, faithful vassal of Slaanesh, licked her lips in anticipation of the anguish and torment she knew that she and her followers would soon inflict on these upstart Orks. How dare they stand in the way of the ascendancy of the Chaos Gods? Who did they think they were to stand between the exalted warriors of Slaanesh and the Tau settlements that were ripe for the picking? They would be taught a lesson, a most deliciously painful lesson. One that would linger and last, the better to ensure the lesson sunk in, and the Orks came to know their place in the universe.
