June Update

Just a quick update, as there will be no Battle Report this month. With the arrival of 8th edition, and all the changes that come with a change as big as this, sadly there will be no carnage this month.

But no worries, next month there will be the first of our battles in 8th. Ork Warboss Bludcracka Ragegutta has just begun to gather the merest hint of a Waaagh! under his banner, and he was able to gain a foothold in the Tau city. Next month, he will unleash his boyz and see if they can drown the Tau in a tidal wave of green bodies!

Warboss Bludcracka Ragegutta stomped back and forth in front of his slugga boyz, inspiring them with his Mega Armour and his presence. His Kommandos had discovered a Tau settlement, and it was ripe for the picking. If they could just overwhelm this first line of defenders, he knew they could drive deep into Tau territory, and more Orks would flock to his banner. He stomped even harder, pistoned his power klaw open and closed a few times, then turned and advanced at the Tau line, firing his shoota as he went, to make sure his boyz went in the right direction.

[World Eaters Chaos Lord] had received some rather worrying news. The planned insurrection was not going well so far. The forces of Chaos had failed to recover the Kytan Daemon Engine from the Tau planet it had been located on, An Ork warband had caught Nurgle Warlord Mordebas Goulstur preparing for his part of the campaign. While Goulstur had seen the Orks off, it had been a close run thing, and Goulstur needed time to repair and refit his forces before leading them into action again, such was the brutality of the contest with the Orks. And now, he had news that a Tau'nar had been spotted in the lines before them. The reports had said the Tau forces before them were few, but possessed heavy firepower. No matter. Forward! Skulls for the skull throne! Blood for the Blood God!

Shas'el Sha'draig Drauth, newly promoted Commander of a Hunter Contingent, listened to the orders again. A Space Marine force had been delivered by multiple drop ships inside the city, and were making their way towards a vital intersection, which if the Space Marines controlled would make it difficult to move reinforcements around. His orders were clear, repel the invaders and do not let them control the intersection.

Chaos Lady Malda Bastiinus, faithful vassal of Slaanesh, licked her lips in anticipation of the anguish and torment she knew that she and her followers would soon inflict on these upstart Orks. How dare they stand in the way of the ascendancy of the Chaos Gods? Who did they think they were to stand between the exalted warriors of Slaanesh and the Tau settlements that were ripe for the picking? They would be taught a lesson, a most deliciously painful lesson. One that would linger and last, the better to ensure the lesson sunk in, and the Orks came to know their place in the universe.

Having reached a truce agreement with Gargarax Sigax the Fellblade, a Khorne Warlord, Nurgle Warlord Mordebas Goulstur received word of the failed attempt to restore and escape with a Kytan Daemon Engine. As he prepared his forces to launch a second attack to capture the Heavy Walker, his scouts reported an Ork Warband moving into assault position on his temporary base.
