Warzone Octarius: Pankallis Assault - Stage 1 Phase 2: Battle 19

 The 15th Siege Company, 501st Siege Battalion, 14th Siege Brigade, 2nd Krieg Siege Division (Reconstituted) has been ordered to recover a supply drop that drifted into the city in their area of operations.

Kriegmeister Keist leads 1st Platoon into the city, aware of reports that the same Aeldari force they have encountered recently is roaming the area.

The Battle

Deployment


1st Platoon deployed en masse.

Arm. Sentinel ready to dart onto central objective.

Rangers up top, Scorpions behind the ruin deployed in advance positions.

Swooping Hawks also behind cover.

Spirit Seer and Dire Avengers holding home objective.






Turn 1

1st platoon moves forward cautiously, wary of the Aeldari speed.

3 Section assaults the Rangers.

Scorpions move around 3 Section.

Surviving Rangers fall back and shoot.

Autarch and Swooping Hawks claim the central objective.
And kill the Sentinel. Again. Poor Sentinel.

Scorpions assault 2 Section.






Turn 2

Having finished off the Scorpions and the Rangers, the 
survivors of 3 Section and 2 Section push into the ruins.

Dire Avengers take shelter and wipe out the rest of 3 Section.

Autarch showing his awesomeness by single-handedly jumping
into the midst of 1 Platoon.

Cmd Sqd kills the Hawks, remainder of 1 Section and Keist
fail to kill the Autarch, even though Keist shot him and charged him.






Turn 3

Autarch still being awesome.

The survivors of 2 Section Move Move Move to contest
the central objective.

1 Section and Keist fail again to take down the Autarch.






Turn 4

Keist finally manages to drop the xeno. The central objective disappeared.

But he revives thanks to his Phoenix Gem.

Autarch denying actions by just stubbornly staying alive.






Turn 5

Dire Avengers coming to try to claim the only remaining objective.
And everything still trying to kill the Autarch.

The objective the Spirit Seer was baby-sitting disappeared.

The Autarch surviving another round of attacks from the Kriegers.



The Autarch kills the last of 1 Section, and leaves the Lt with 1 wound, and
Keist with 1 wound, just unable to clear the objective.






Summary

Krieg wins, final score 65 - 45.

What an epic struggle. This game would have been so much different if the Krieg objective was one of the objectives to disappear.

And that Autarch, just casually hanging out for 4 turns in the midst of the Krieg platoon. Heroes can actually be Heroic in smaller games, they don't just get gunned off the board casually like in larger games.

Another game that was a ton of fun, and a nail biter, right to the last turn. These are the type of games that make 40K so enjoyable to play.
